Description:
This is a wild-type recombinant DNA polymerase, derived from T. aquaticus, expressed in E. coli. The Taq polymerase is a thermo-stable DNA polymerase with 5' to 3' polymerase activity and low 5' to 3' exonuclease activity.
Available in two concentrations and supplied with 10X reaction buffer.
The higher-concentration (50 U/µl) enzyme is also supplied with 1X dilution buffer.
Protein Uses:
Primer extension.
Polymerase chain reaction.
DNA sequencing.
Site-directed mutagenesis.
Additional Information:
Single recombinant polypeptide of 94 kDa, expressed in E.coli.
High purity, low DNA content.
Specific activity: 100,000 - 150,000 U/mg.
Exhibits deoxynucleotidyl-transferase activity, which results in the addition of extra adenines at the 3' end of PCR products - suitable for use in TA cloning.
Half-life of 45 minutes @ 94°C.
Error rate of 1/45,000 bases.
