Description:

MON1 cells are high transformation efficiency chemically competent E.coli strain for DNA cloning. MON1 can be used as a host for most plasmids including plasmids derived from BAC vectors. These cells are recombination deficient (recA-) and suitable for blue/white screening on X-gal plates utilizing lacZ alpha complementation. MON1 produces high quality plasmid DNA because of an endA- mutation.
