Description:
Bacteriophage T4 DNA Ligase
is derived from
Eschericia coli bacteriophage T4 and expressed in
E.coli. This DNA ligase catalyzes the formation of a phosphodiester bond between proximal 5'-phosphate and 3'-hydroxyl termini in duplex DNA or RNA with blunt or cohesive-end termini. The enzyme repairs single-strand nicks in duplex DNA, RNA or DNA/RNA hybrids but has no activity on single-stranded nucleic acids . The T4 DNA Ligase requires ATP as cofactor. This
highly purified
preparation has low contaminating bacterial DNA and is suitable for construction of linker-tailed genomic DNA libraries for PCR and use in emulsion PCR techniques.
